Champions have scars. But that should not scare you because cowards can never be champs.
Accepted that on the runway of success, the prospective champion may stumble, fumble, fain or fall, making the scars very prominent at this stage. However, the moment he decides to dust off and hit the runway after the initial setback, he is likely to emerge a champion.
On the podium, he shines brilliantly as a star so much so that the scars lose prominence for the overriding beauty of the crown.
Which should we be concerned about?
That stars have scars to the point that we would not take the next bold step or that scars make stars and go for glory?
So when we see events unfolding, leaving us scarred, we should be resolute to push on because our stardom is within reach.
The making of a champion is actually the unmaking of a coward. What we count as scars are surgical stitches we received on the runway of success when we were drained of cowardice.
