Dr. Ifaenyi Casmir, the National Publicity Secretary, Association of Medical Laboratory Scientist of Nigeria (AMLSN) has said that most rapid diagnostic test (RDT) kits in Nigeria are not validated. Dr Casmir made this remarkon Tuesday, 13th October, 2020, while giving a good will message on behalf of the Association National President during the the press briefing by the Registrar/CEO of Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN), Dr Tosan Erhabor, on progress report of second batch Validation of SARS -Cov-2 infection.

The Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN) is set to brief the press today – Tuesday, 13th October, 2020 – on the outcome of the validation of SARS-CoV-2 test kits.This much is contained in a statement released on the verified twitter handle of the regulatory body as posted on Monday, 12th October, 2020.

An abattoir is an institution set up for the sole purpose of organised, supervised and safe slaughter and merchandise of meat. It could be set up by government or private institutions.
The process of slaughter and sell of meat is beyond just butchering and sale of meat of animals. The institution is expected to put in place mechanisms that ensure professional assessment of animals meant for slaughter to ensure they are safe for human consumption. Other mechanisms are to ensure that the value chain from butchering to packaging and to sale of the commodity is done in a way that is safe and professional enough not to constitute public health concerns to the unsuspecting consumers.
