The Association of Medical Laboratory Scientists of Nigeria (AMLSN) has set in modalities in motion to elect new leaders by November, 2020.

This move becomes necessary as the tenure of the current National Executive Officers (NEO) led by Dr Bassey Enya Bassey is expected to end by November.
Consequently, an electoral umpire, the Adhoc National Electoral Committee (ANEC) has been inaugurated to lead the process. Our correspondent gathered that 14 positions are up for contest in the expanded NEOs and 49 aspirants have so far signified their intention to throw their hats into the ring. Three aspirants namely: Dr. Casmir Ifeanyi  from University of Abuja, Prof. James Damen from University of Jos and Dr. Uche Odionyema from Ondo State Hospitals Management Board are the aspiring for the position of the National President

The social media is already agog with campaign activities as aspirants and their supporters are working hard to woo prospective voters

The electoral guidelines released by the electoral umpire, ANEC, have provided roadmap for execution of the electoral process. Although members have expressed concern on some parts of the guidelines, the body language of ANEC has shown objectivity, warmness and desire to sort the knotty areas and create a level playing ground for all
