The Society for Scientists in Infectious Diseases (SSID) is set to hold her third webinar today, Saturday 19th September, 2020.
In an interview with our correspondent, President of the Society, Dr Toyosi Raheem, revealed that the webinar sessions are the Society's initiative to provide their members with ready kit of tips and skills as they are exposed to infectious agents daily at work, especially in this period of the pandemic
The lecture titled: "Nosocomial Spread of Covid-19: Implications on Health and Health System in Nigeria" is billed to start by 4.00pm WAT with frontline virologist, Dr Akyala Ishaku, a senior lecturer with the Department of Microbiology, Nasarawa State University, Keffi. Members and the general public are invited to join the session using the zoom link and meeting ID displayed on the promotional material
On his part, Secretary of the Society, Dr Solomon Chollom revealed that the Society has been Incorporated with corporate affairs commission and has about 200 registered members. He further said that a lot is in the offing by the Society to strengthen policies and systems approach in the right against infectious diseases in Nigeria and the world at large
