Dachollom Mancha, one of the many victims of the under-reported attacks from suspected herdsmen in Jol, Riyom LGA with complicated limbs damage has received donation of a wheelchair from Berom Progressive Minds (BPM) as he settles for an unsual long stretch of life of rehabilitation
Leader of the group, Da Gyang Dudu said the group was moved with empathy when a desperate cry for help reached the group by a concerned member of the community through a statement which read in part:
“One of our brothers from Jol, Riyom LGA, who was attacked last month and admitted in JUTH has been discharged but he needs wheelchair. His condition had deteriorated before he was taken to JUTH after he was beaten with sticks by suspected herdsmen who left him unconscious.
Ordinarily, the government should be in charge but many have died while waiting for government intervention. We are financially handicapped. Don’t know if BPM can assist”
"I appealed to our members, they made personal donations and we got a wheelchair for the attack victim", Da Dudu said.
While donating the wheelchair to the victim, Amb Friday Bako prayed for divine intervention from God to enable the Mr Mancha return to normal life
On his part, Mr Mancha who was moved to tears thanked BPM for the gesture and called on government to visit interior villages in Riyom, Bokkos and Barkin Ladi LGA and profile the numerous victims of unprovoked attacks for intervention
