The Plateau Debate Group has announced a new date for gubernatorial debate in the state. In a statement signed by leader of the group, Dr Daniel Meshak, and made available to our correspondent, the group said:

“We hereby bring to the notice of the general public that the earlier announced date for the Plateau Gubernatorial Debate, being organized by the Plateau Debate Group (PDG), has been shifted from the 26th of January 2019. The new date is 2nd of February 2019”.

He added that the change was necessary to firm up back stage preparations:

“This change was necessitated by the need to carry all stakeholders along. We had a slight delay in the signing of legal contracts and agreements with our media and other partners. These events have now been sorted and all is set for the LIVE state-wide broadcast of the second edition of the Plateau Gubernatorial Debate. Given that the first Gubernatorial Debate we organized in 2015 was a huge success, we are committed to building on this legacy, and organizing an even better debate this year, drawing from our experience and the advancements in technology”.

While regretting the inconveniences the change in date would cause, Dr Meshak called on members of the public to participate in the process by sending candidate questions to the group for use

“Members of the public are therefore urged to identify priority areas of governance which they would like to see the candidates discuss by sending their questions to these emails: plateaudebate@gmail.com or info@plateaudebate.com.
