9.0 Start with Guts
Gold medals aren't really made of gold. They're made of sweat, determination, and a hard-to-find alloy called guts – Dan Gable
It takes more than a wishful thinking to start something new. It takes real guts to move from a place of convenience through inconvenience to a place of more convenience. It takes great courage to detour from an established path, and get through the bushes and the harrowing experience of navigating through in order to blaze a trail.
Starters are people of great guts. They dare to do what others dread. They dream where others sleep and sink. They move on when others sit back in hopelessness. They don't believe in a better yesterday as much as they do in a better tomorrow. They see light where others see darkness. They see opportunities where others see threats. They touch what others only think of.
The need to start with guts can never be over emphasized. To remain in a place is to be in sync and synapse with gravitational pull. It is also to surrender to frictional force and embrace a static position which is in turn a starting point for retrogrades. Guts must come to play to weaken inertia and activate potential for a progressive move.
Lack of guts has made Lions to only bark when they can actually bite. Lack of guts has made princes to walk on foot while their servants ride on horses. Lack of guts has made champion operate as lay backs. It has substituted audacity with cowardice.
The grace to get off your seat and begin that audacious step is the guts you need to make an upgrade. The irrepressible force that urges you to move on in the face of odds is the guts we are talking about. The consistent voice in the quiescence of your life, energizing you to muster courage for the next hit is the guts you should not throw away
Going the way of guts may hurt temporarily but exalts in the long run. Therefore, to not end in the gutters of life, we all need guts to glitter in the galaxies
