The Plateau state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party has thrown a jibe at the ruling All Progressive Congress in the state over what it termed “much anticipated harvest of decampees” which turned out to be a gleaning from a harvested field.

In a statement signed by the State Publicity Secretary of the party Sir JT Akans and made available online, Akans said:

“It has come to our attention that contrary to the much anticipated "harvest" of decampees by the APC in Plateau State, the ruling party at the Rwang Pam Stadium Jos, today Friday 4th January 2019 received only Chris Giwa. Hon Simon Ngwan (Former Chairman Kanke LGA 1999-2003); and Alh Abubakar Dashe, a former Commissioner under the Jang Administration who has been a member of the APC since 2016”

“While the return of Chris Giwa and Simon Ngwan to the APC did not come to us as a surprise, we find funny the mentioning of Alh Abubakar Dashe as one of the decampees from the PDP. It is on record that Abubakar Dashe has been in the ruling APC since 2016. While we wish both Chris Giwa and Hon Ngwan the best of luck in their once again new home”

Sir Akans cautioned the APC on desperate attempts to mislead the public ahead of the general elections
“We however wish to caution against deliberate attempts to misinform the Plateau Public in a desperate move to curry support ahead of the forthcoming general elections.”

It would be recalled that the APC in Plateau state today launched her state-wide campaign at the Rwang Pam township stadium and had boasted of receiving en mass, high profile decampees and whatever was left of the PDP as the State Chairman of the APC, Hon Latep Dabang, had earlier been quoted as saying that after the event today, the PDP in the state will cease to exist.
