The gubernatorial candidate of the African Democratic Party in Plateau state, Gen Jon Temlong (Rtd) has confirmed that he will attend the gubernatorial debate being organized by the Plateau Debate Group
He made this disclosure when members of the debate group led by Dr Daniel Meshak, leader of the Group, paid him a courtesy visit earlier in the week
Gen Temlong who was flanked by his running mate and State Party Chairman, proudly endorsed the debate by posing with the promotional material before photo journalists commended the Group for the initiative adding that there was no better time to take our democratic process a notch higher than now. He added that the focus must be on what leadership content the candidates are made up of and not how much money they have to throw around
Earlier, Dr Meshak had informed the governorship hopeful that the Group deemed it fit to meet him and present to him an official letter of invitation to the live debate scheduled for 26th January, 2019. He added that the development followed his popularity in aggregate votes from Facebook page and field survey which saw him emerge among the top six candidates out of the 22 that were presented for the public to decide
The Plateau Debate Group is conducting a gubernatorial debate this January having done same in 2015 with overwhelming success in its maiden outing
