The first and indispensable resource you need to start up with is yourself. You need to accept the challenge of a new start and go all out for it. You may need partners, money and machines to drive you through but you first have to be on board by yourself for other things to fall in place.
You are the major character in this event and you cannot play the ghost in its execution. There has to be a Paul to plant and an Apollos to water before God can give the increase. Your bank account, your connections or material resources are secondary, though absolutely important, don't give them the front seat!
You need to accept the new challenge to start up or to re-start. If your previous start ups had ended with nightmarish experiences, you must work hard to detox your mentality of those sad and retrogressive pasts while reaching out resolutely to this new start. Also, if your previous start ups were smooth rides to Eldorados, then you must be circumspect in your confidence not to give in to flippancy since no two terrains are the same. Never look at where you fell, look out what where you stumbled instead. Time to lift yourself up from the past to the present start is now!
Again, you need to believe in yourself and in that dream. This is because your belief, passion and drive is naturally infectious. It is your informal mobilisation wing for any project. You cannot have anyone buy into or invest himself, time and money in what you have not believed in yourself
Starting with yourself also means gauging your capabilities in the light of the new journey. It may send you back to mentors, tutors, books and other capacity development hubs. It may send you to some character refineries to bring out the pure and precious gold in you currently wrapped in gibberish. It may as well re-define your schedules, spendings and companions. Whatever the outcome and suggestion of your personal appraisal, you should be responsible enough to accept it and start with nothing and no other than yourself!
Lastly, never take any message you pick from personal studies, life experiences and other sources as good for someone else. Dont rush into making a sermon to preach, an advise to dish out or a seminar to present when you have no evidence of excellence in that niche.
What matters most in this business is not who is working against you or who is waiting to laugh you off in the event of an unsuccessful expedition. What matters most is you. Start with yourself today!
