Our correspondent learnt that the tribunal had her inaugural sitting last Friday for pre-trial hearing on the petitions before it only to adjourn to December 14th as counsels to PLASIEC and APC pleaded for time to prepare, claiming the notice on the hearing was not served to them in good time.

Chairman of the tribunal, Justice Jovita Bindim granted the prayer and adjourned sitting to Thursday, December 14th 2018

It would be recalled that the local government council elections held last October in 14 of the 17 local government areas in Plateau state where PLASIEC declared candidates of the APC winners in all Chairmanship positions and most Councillorship positions

The main opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) which suffered the most loss at the polls had claimed electoral malpractices and headed for the tribunal in search of justice. With the commencement of sitting by the electoral tribunal, the legal fireworks is expected to be engaging and revealing
