Pharm John Chun, popularly known as CJ was a PDP aspirant for the Barkin Ladi state constituency for Plateau State where he lost out to Hon Peter Gyendeng in the primary election. In this missive to his buddy, Comrade Prince Miaphen, he reminded him of their stand of yesteryears, calling him to remain on the path of patriotic reasoning. Hear him…

1. My dear comrade in the struggle of many years, I bring greetings from the shrine of alutarism with high esteem & reverence to your seniority in the jungle of the struggle.

2. My dear comrade, you have been a rallying point to many who share in your original school of thought including myself. I recall how we shared and discussed with you, a wide range of national issues, lamented on bad governance, craved for alternative leadership, our detest for mediocrity and ineptitude and a whole lot.

3. Permit me my dear comrade, to temporarily address you as the new doctor of letters. I carefully chose the title considering some of your recent letters viz;

  a. The open letter to the Berom Nation
  b. The open letter to Plateau stakeholders
  C. The open letter to Plateau central zone

4. Shockingly, these letters are coming few months after you took Lalong to the cleaners in separate letters ( part 1-3 ), citing and highlighting his non-performance, bad leadership, his lack of capacity and total mismanagement of affairs of the as the number one occupant of little Rayfield. I considered those letters as not just rational, but statesmanlike coming from you. Those initial letters were just classic and attempted to review the scoreboard of the Lalong administration

5. My dear comrade,  I clearly understand that all politics is local, hence the gradual descend by you, to localize your today's thoughts as against our yesterday's believe.

6. On the first letter to Berom, especially when the news broke of the endorsement of Lt Gen JT Jeremiah Timbut Useni, palpable tension was felt in the opponent's camp.
May I kindly notify you that at no point did the entire Berom Nation chose only JT of the PDP as a sole candidate for Berom, rather, WE THE BEROM NATION OF THE PDP EXTRACT considered his candidature as best and in the interest of the common Plateau man. Hence we decided to duly endorse him.

7. On your widely shared second letter to the Plateau stakeholders, you narrated how our past Governors enjoyed the full complement of eight years uninterrupted.

On this, may I draw your attention to the great advancements in our political consciousness? We now have a Plateau with zero tolerance for inabilities, bad governance and mismanagement of affairs of governance.

Recall that voting out non perfoming governors is as old as our present day democracy so kicking Lalong out after four years will not be the first national example as it was in the following States;

     a. Chinwoke Mbadinuju, Anambra (2003)

     b. Abubakar Habu Hashidu, Gombe (2003)

    C. Mala Kachallah, Borno (2003)

    d.  Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, Kano (2003)

     e. Kayode Fayemi, Ekiti (2014)

     f. Alao Akala, Oyo (2011)

     g. Dr. Lam Adesina Oyo, ( 2003)

     h.Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja (2006)

Among other examples…….

My dear comrade, with this few national examples, isn't it time for Plateau to take back her destiny for once through the ballot amidst obvious perceived failure?

8. The third epistle you addressed to the people of the central zone my able comrade,  is definitely intended to whip sectional sentiments. May I humbly state that, our next election will be about the capacity of the office occupant and not the emotional idea of escorting a below average performance back to office in the name of fulfilling eight years.

The good news I convey to the central zone is that, Dist. Sen. JT Useni has committed in writing as a respected elder, to respect the zoning arrangements by handing over to the central zone.

9. In conclusion my indefatigable comrade, it's my considered opinion that we should from today henceforth, base our letters on key issues affecting governance, set performance measurement templates to decide wether or not, a sitting elected official deserves reelection or not.

Let's create an avenue for a robust dialogue, engagement and categorization of our candidates with a view to selecting better options.

Yours in the struggle,

Cmrd Pharm CJ
