The third edition of the Pa Shonekan Annual Public Health Lecture coinciding with the 3rd year anniversary of the rememberance of Late Pa Rapahel A Shonekan, is all set to hold at the main auditorium of National Veterinary Research Institute (NVRI), Vom between 27th and 30th November, 2018
The event is the initiative of the executive members of the Association of Medical Laboratory Scientists of Nigeria (AMLSN), NVRI Vom geared towards sensitizing the public about trending public health issues and in the process build capacity of professionals towards greater productivity.
According to the chairman of AMLSN NVRI Vom, Solomon Chollom, the lecture is partly to immortalize Late Pa Raphael A. Shonekan who doubled as first certified medical laboratory scientist in Nigeria and first to be employed by the prestigious National Veterinary Research Institute, Vom
The first edition of the lecture focused of Emerging and Re-emerging Infectious Diseases with focus on Lassa Fever virus. The second edition focused on Antimicrobial Stewardship as a Neglected Public Health Essential.
This year’s edition according to organizers has the theme: One World, One Health: Re-basing our Approach to Public Health Concerns with Dr Moses D. Lugos, as Guest Speaker. Richly assembled subthemes include:

A quick check into the registration log shows that health and veterinary-related professionals from various part of the country have started registering in earnest to attend the lecture which the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria has graded and awarded 4CPD units
