Most times we misapply what we regard as love towards the people we esteem highly. We fail to tell them the truth when it is the only remedy to the malady that has made them slump in public rating. Instead, we go with cosmetics of lies to either lubricate, satiate their derailed consciences or to keep our positions in their list of loyalists for ephemeral placations. By so doing, we drive them faster through inglorious paths into forgettable Halls of Shame
The best way to show love to those we regard is not to insist that their wrongs are right or bully to silence those who critique with cursory objectivity to demand that spotted blemishes in their white robes are laundered to keep the garment in glassy nobility.
To insist that silence on stained robes must cover the mouths of onlookers is to have flies and maggots infest kingly palaces to meal on the littered garments and gardens. Worst of it is to go into irrationality and insist that the present garment is not as stained as the former, forgetting that the former is already veiled in history but the present is the unveiling story
Show genuine love to your revered constituency by collating and channeling feedbacks to it for immediate reinvention. If we all, in one voice, return to our principals with same points begging for redress, they will definitely change, no matter how recalcitrant, especially as it comes from us, their closest associates.
This is my humble opinion on how to, and how not to, effect positive change in leaders in this critical time of our national life
