Prof Garba Sharubutu has called on those bent on criminalizing and victimizing the Berom nation to abandon the unsellable propaganda. The eloquent professor made the call on Sunday at a book launch in Jos where he was the chairman of the occasion. The book titled Tears of Blood: The Weeping Berom Child'' was authored by Samdung Africa
Prof. Sharubutu made it unequivocally clear that contrary to recent negative narrations by some groups, the Berom people are loving, peaceful, caring and very hospitable. He said, no one can tell the story of the Berom nation more than the Beroms. He then charged the Berom nation to rise up and tell their story to the world because they are not what they are being painted by those who are hell bent on causing disaffection.
Contributing, Ngo Sarah Reng Ochekpe, former minister for water resources said the mere fact that other ethnic groups reside in all Berom villages is an inconvertible testimony to the hospitable disposition of the Berom nation. She added that those who describe the ethnic group otherwise are sadists whose ulterior motives are to set the Beroms against other ethnic nationalities. She commended the author of the book and emphasized that education is a veritable tool in defense of any people.
“Every step aimed at criminalizing, vilifying and demonizing the terrorized Berom people, is a step in futility. Yes, the Beroms are not terrorists. They are peaceful, loving and very hospitable. So, stop terrorizing the Berom nation!” she concluded.
Chairman of Nerat Business Umpire and sponsor of the program, eulogized the book author of the book, Samdung Africa, for the timely piece of literature.
“Please, get a copy of the book to know how the weeping and terrorized Berom child is shedding tears of blood on daily basis on account of her limitless hospitality to all and sundry”.
