The 3-man delegation of G-50 was led by Scientist Tanimu Umar, a Deputy Director, Medical Laboratory Services with the Gombe State Specialist Hospital. Two other members of the group practicing in Plateau State made up the team. They are: Dr Junaid Surajudeen, the Dean of Studies, FCVMLT Vom and a board member of the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital and Scientist Solomon Chollom, the Chairman of Association of Medical Laboratory Scientists of Nigeria, NVRI Vom.  The delegation said the gesture was in keeping with the mandate of the group that borders on humanitarian services. Earlier in his introductory speech, Scientist Solomon Chollom told the camp officials that G-50 was moved by empathy on hearing the condition of the people in the camps. Members decided to make personal donations to intervene in the situation. He said that members of the group included Christians and Muslims who are committed to a nation void of religious bigotry and ethnic chauvinism. He added that the group looked at intervention around issues of hygiene as a critical factor in the health of people in IDP camps. He disclosed that the group was presenting sanitary pads, diapers and other hygiene-related commodities.

Contributing, Dr Junaid Surajudeen lamented the happenings that led to the unfortunate loss of lives and insisted that it is an act of barbarism adding that no human being in his right senses will consider killing of humans as a genuine cause.

Responding, the camp coordinators thanked G-50 members for the gesture and prayed God to bless and replenish their sources of income
