Private and public institutions are already decked in the signature red and green Christmas regalia just as major roundabouts in the city centre have all turned tourist spots with ingenious decorations.
Major markets witness influx of buyers and sellers as commercial banks record long queues both in banking halls and ATM posts. While the gridlock in markets and banks may be for good reasons, the long queues in filling stations remain a sordid anticlimax.
As the build up for the annual festivities intensifies, residents have been called upon to be security cautious.
“I am scared at the number of people in this market. I just hope nothing bad happens” A customer who preferred to speak in anonymity said
At the ATM post of a commercial bank, a customer who identified himself as Keswet recommended security checks for people on queue for ATM withdrawals to forestall emergencies
“Why are they not using the scanning machine (security scanner) on people queuing at the ATM? They cannot scan only people going into the banking hall and leave us here like this’’ Keswet spoke out
It is the expectation of Plateau citizens that the yuletide season will be peaceful and memorable going by the security measures and assurances earlier released by the Plateau State Police Command
